At 2,250 and 2,500 horsepower, the MTU Serires 4000 T94 was the only Tier 4i-certified engine available at the start of 2011 for oil&gas fracturing applications. This new engine provides improved fuel economy over Tier 2 models, as well as peak torque from 1,200 rpm through rated speed and altitude performance to 13,000 feet prior to any derate. A complete MTU system package featuring this engine is currently in field testing, and is scheduled for delivery to begin later this year.
