S4000

This MTU engine serial number means the number of cubic centimeters of one cylinder work displacement, which is 4000 accordingly. With 4000 series, 12, 16 and 20 cylinders configurations of 90°V are provided by MTU (Germany).

With these engines series a common rail inject system with automatically controlled pumps of high pressure is provided as well. The fuel injection pressure achieves more than 1500 atm., that is 4-6 times more than any other standard injection system provides. These options allow these engines high fuel economy. In addition, every MTU 4000 series engine is equipped with electronic common control system, including systems of secure, that makes it extremely reliable.
